The Graduate Assistantship Program (GAP) is a transformative initiative designed to integrate skill acquisition with experiential, project-based learning for students in tertiary institution. Through GAP, students participate in structured, 4 to 6 months projects that align with high-demand technical skills, allowing them to ‘learn by doing’ and develop a robust skillset in their chosen fields. This unique model enables students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, positioning them as capable, job-ready graduates upon completion of their studies.
GAP offers multiple skill tracks, each designed to cover high-demand competencies. Each track culminates in a 4 to 6 months project where students will develop, test, and present a solution or product in their chosen field. Skill tracks include:
GAP emphasizes industry collaboration, pairing students with mentors for feedback and guidance, encouraging peer collaboration, and partnering with companies to offer real-world project briefs.
Every student will build a digital portfolio that showcases their project work. This portfolio will serve as a tangible record of their competencies, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
Upon completion of each project, students will earn a GAP Certificate of Completion, validating their practical experience. GAP can be structured to align with university credit systems, allowing students to earn credits based on project work.
