Graduate Assistantship Program (GAP)

The Graduate Assistantship Program (GAP) is a transformative initiative designed to integrate skill acquisition with experiential, project-based learning for students in tertiary institution. Through GAP, students participate in structured, 4 to 6 months projects that align with high-demand technical skills, allowing them to ‘learn by doing’ and develop a robust skillset in their chosen fields. This unique model enables students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, positioning them as capable, job-ready graduates upon completion of their studies.

Objectives

  • Hands-On Skill Mastery: Equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills through immersive project work that mirrors real-world tasks.
  • Project-Based Learning: Engage students in intensive, extended projects that build depth and confidence in their technical abilities.
  • Remote Learning Flexibility: Provide an accessible, online platform to facilitate remote participation and collaboration.
  • Enhanced Employability: Cultivate a professional portfolio of projects that increases students’ employability and sets them apart in the job market
  • Industry Partnerships: Foster collaborations with industry experts and companies to guide project design and mentorship, creating potential pathways to internships and employment.

Program Structure

GAP offers multiple skill tracks, each designed to cover high-demand competencies. Each track culminates in a 4 to 6 months project where students will develop, test, and present a solution or product in their chosen field. Skill tracks include:

  • Entrepreneurship and Business Management
  • Digital Marketing, Sales and Business Closing
  • Software Development (Web and Mobile Apps)
  • Graphics and UI/UX Designs
  • Social Media Management
  • Project Management
  • Children and Youth Engagement

Mentorship and Industry Collaboration

GAP emphasizes industry collaboration, pairing students with mentors for feedback and guidance, encouraging peer collaboration, and partnering with companies to offer real-world project briefs.

Portfolio Development

Every student will build a digital portfolio that showcases their project work. This portfolio will serve as a tangible record of their competencies, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.

Certification and Academic Credit

Upon completion of each project, students will earn a GAP Certificate of Completion, validating their practical experience. GAP can be structured to align with university credit systems, allowing students to earn credits based on project work.

The Graduate Assistantship Program (GAP) offers a valuable, innovative approach to higher education by combining theoretical and project-based learning. Through GAP, students gain practical skills that equip them to enter the workforce confidently. We invite universities to collaborate with us to bring GAP to their students, enriching the academic experience and fostering job-ready graduates.
